Exciting new event in the mix for 2019, keep you posted!!

Remember our facebook page.

Kaituna Ridges Farm is a stand out property at the base of the Pelorus Sounds enclosed within the Kaituna Valley, featuring steep hillsides clothed in pasture and native bush.  Farm Award winner of the Marlborough Environment Awards 2008/2009, and also featured on Country Calander in 2016.

The 800 hectare farm runs over 5000 Romney sheep and over 200 head of cattle.  Conservation of the remaining natural areas is a high priority with large areas of native bush within the valleys.  Native bush has been protection-fenced from livestock, and the wetlands are being restored.

Fantastic views can be gained from the ridgelines.  To the North is the picturesque Queen Charlotte Sound and Pelorus Sound, and to the South down to Kaituna Valley.  The ridges are a regular training ground for Outward Bound students.

You are warmly invited again to experience the beauty this location has to offer!!

The Ramble is a 12km loop course.  The event will begin at the woolshed on Kaituna Ridges Farm.  The route is a steady uphill climb, mainly a on 4WD track, to the first saddle with a decent drop before returning to the ridgeline and winding through beautiful beach forest.  Another saddle is mastered before heading into thicker native bush, following an old gold miners trail to come out onto a ridge to begin the final decent.  Depending on your ability Walkers are expected to take between 3 to 5 hours, for Runners 2 to 3 hours, and for Bikers approximately 3 hours.

The track will be clearly signposted with markers. Please keep to the track and close all gates behind you.

See our facebook page www.facebook.com/KaitunaRidgesRamble/ for more information.
